How to Use Find Hub Remembered Items with Gemini on Android

Log where you put a passport, spare keys, or a folder in Find Hub’s Remembered tab with Gemini or a manual note. Retrieve it later by voice or from the app on Android 16+.

Find Hub already maps phones, watches, earbuds, and Bluetooth tags. The September 2026 Android Drop added a third kind of record: Remembered items. You tell Gemini where you put something that has no tracker—a passport, a spare house key, a document folder—and Find Hub stores that note. Later you ask Gemini or open the Remembered tab.

This is a reminder list, not a live tracker. The app stores what you said. If you move the item and do not update the note, Find Hub will still show the old place.

Google announced the feature in the September 2026 Android Drop. The Remembered tab began shipping in Find Hub version 3.1.732-02.

What you need

An Android phone on Android 16 or later
The Find Hub app updated from Play Store
Gemini available in your country and signed in with the same Google account
Location and Gemini permissions you are willing to grant

Google framed Remembered items as rolling out to countries where both Gemini and Find Hub already work. If the third tab is missing after an update, wait for the server-side flag rather than sideloading an older APK.

Treat Remembered items as a household inventory. Use a Pixel Tag or another Find Hub-compatible tag when you need the crowdsourced network to locate something that can walk away.

Remembered vs Devices vs People

Find Hub’s bottom bar now has three destinations on supported builds:

Devices — phones, tablets, watches, earbuds, and paired tags
People — family or friends who share location with you
Remembered — items you described to Gemini or typed in by hand (bookmark icon with a Gemini spark)

Remembered entries do not ping the Find Hub network. Other Android phones will not report a new location for a passport sitting in a drawer.

Add an item with Gemini

Google’s own example is: “Hey Google, remember in Find Hub that I put my passport in my bedroom drawer.”

Make sure Gemini can hear you (power button long-press, Gemini gesture, or “Hey Google”).
Name the object and the storage spot in one sentence. Add the room if the house has more than one drawer that fits the description.
When Gemini offers a photo, attach one of the closed drawer or the exact shelf. A photo of the passport itself is optional and often worse for privacy.
Open Find Hub → Remembered and confirm the card appeared.

A precise prompt works better than a vague one:

Good: “Remember in Find Hub that the spare front-door key is in the kitchen junk drawer, left side.”
Weak: “Remember my keys.”

Gemini stores the wording you used. If two people share the account, agree on names so you do not create “passport” and “travel booklet” as two cards for the same item.

Add an item by hand

When voice is awkward (library, plane, late at night), use the manual path that arrived with the Remembered tab.

Open Find Hub.
Tap the Remembered tab.
Tap the floating action button and choose Manual entry (wording can vary slightly by build).
Enter a Name and a Storage spot.
Add optional fields: a picture, a place such as Home, and notes (“renews March 2028”, “blue folder”).

The Ask Gemini shortcut on the same button opens the full Gemini app so you can log the item by voice without leaving the flow.

Find the item later

You have two retrieval paths. Use both once so you know which one you prefer when you are actually searching.

Ask Gemini

Say “Where did I put my passport?” or “What’s in Find Hub for the spare key?” Gemini should read back the stored spot. If you attached a photo, ask it to show the picture.

Open the tab

Open Find Hub → Remembered.
Scroll to the card.
Check the storage spot, notes, and photo.
Edit the card if you moved the item.

If Gemini answers from Memory or another notebook instead of Find Hub, add “in Find Hub” to the question. Remembered items are a Find Hub record first.

When to use a tag instead

Remembered items are the wrong tool for anything that leaves the house without you noticing.

Use a tag or a built-in Find Hub device when you need:

A map location from the Find Hub network (Google describes this network as more than one billion Android devices, with end-to-end encryption)
A ring / play-sound action
Precision finding with Ultra-Wideband on supported tags and phones
Left Behind alerts
Sharing the item with up to 10 people

Pixel Tag pairs with Fast Pair on Android 9 or newer: pull the battery tab, hold it near the phone, name the item in Find Hub. Google lists a $29 single tag and a $99 four-pack, with store availability called out for November 2026. Until a tag is on the item, Remembered is only as accurate as your last note.

You can also share a paired tag’s live location with a participating airline from Find Hub if luggage goes missing—that flow is separate from Remembered and uses a secure link you can revoke.

Privacy and housekeeping

Google’s Find Hub help pages describe network locations as end-to-end encrypted and gated by the device lock. Remembered cards are different: they are notes you wrote, often with a photo.

Keep the list short and current.

Delete cards for items you sold, recycled, or no longer own.
Do not photograph identity documents in high resolution if a wide shot of the drawer is enough.
Do not store PINs, safe combinations, or backup codes in the notes field.
If you share the Google account across a household, assume everyone on that account can read Remembered cards.
Review Settings → Google → Find Hub (path varies by OEM) so you know whether the phone also participates in the crowdsourced network.

Remembered items do not replace a will, a password manager, or a written household inventory for insurance. They replace the sticky note on the fridge.

Conclusion

Find Hub Remembered items close a gap the network cannot: objects with no radio. Tell Gemini the drawer, attach a photo if it helps, and retrieve the note from the Remembered tab or by voice.

Keep the cards honest. Update them when you move the object. Use a Pixel Tag or another Find Hub accessory when you need a map pin, a ring, or a shareable live location.
